Pages that are too large (September 2026): on a portal with more than 2,300 location pages, the pages for large cities were several megabytes in size, and on one of them there was no visible content in the first 2 MB. Half of the 20 largest pages were not indexed, several of them “crawled, currently not indexed”. Small pages with very little text were missing too. A page that is not in the index cannot appear in any AI Overview.
Facts only in PDFs (September 2026): at a large organisation, amounts and rules were only available in PDF documents or in the customer portal. AI systems sometimes reproduced these figures incorrectly. A well-structured HTML page with the key facts is the first step here.
Contradictions on the organisation’s own website: the same deadline or membership figure was stated differently on different pages. AI systems may then pick up the wrong value. Consistent information is the prerequisite for them to find the right one.
