Causes, not symptoms

A loss of visibility almost always leaves a technical trail. We analyse the crawl, Search Console and server logs together until the cause is clear.

We do the implementation too

Our team includes two full-stack developers. We implement measures ourselves or give your developers tasks with URLs, finding, goal and acceptance criterion.

For AI search too

According to measurements so far, many AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript. Blocks in robots.txt or the firewall, often set without anyone noticing, keep them out as well. Technical SEO is therefore the foundation for GEO.

Crawling and indexing

robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonicals, noindex and redirects have to fit together. We check which pages Google actually crawls and indexes, and clear up contradictions.

Loading time and Core Web Vitals

We measure Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift with lab and field data and name the causes: server response, images, scripts, fonts.

JavaScript and rendering

We compare the delivered HTML with the fully rendered page. If content, links or meta information are missing from the HTML, we recommend server-side rendering or pre-rendering.

Structured data

Markup for the organisation, products, articles and other types is checked, corrected and extended. We validate it against the requirements of Google and Schema.org.

Site architecture and internal linking

Click depth, orphaned pages, pagination, filters and language versions with hreflang: we make sure important pages can be reached and unimportant ones do not tie up crawl budget.

Server logs and AI crawlers

With a log file analysis we see which bots really come, what they fetch and where a firewall or bot protection locks them out.

1

Access and goals

We clarify goals, systems and people involved and receive access to Search Console, web analytics and, where possible, server logs.

2

Crawl and measurement

We crawl the website, measure loading times and compare HTML and rendered page for the most important page types.

3

Findings and priorities

You receive a list using a traffic-light system: what is critical, what is important, what can wait. An SEO analysis can also serve as the basis.

4

Implementation or tickets

Our developers implement the measures. If your own team does the work, we deliver tasks with URL lists, sample code and an acceptance criterion, directly in your ticket system if you wish.

5

Testing on staging

Changes are made in a test environment first, backed up and checked. If your team implements them, we answer questions and check interim versions.

6

Sign-off and monitoring

After go-live we measure again and watch indexing, loading times and visibility.

 From our projects

Typical findings from our projects

The following examples come from projects in 2026, anonymised here.

  • Slow server response: on a manufacturer’s product pages, the first server response took 1.85 seconds. In addition, the most important image was only loaded via JavaScript. The benchmark of 2.5 seconds for Largest Contentful Paint could not be reached this way.
  • Wasted crawl budget: a log file analysis with around 12 million lines showed which AI crawlers actually fetch the website and where loops and oversized files use up crawl budget.
  • Hard-coded addresses: before a relaunch we found 2,136 hard-coded links to the old address and main content that only became visible after 15 seconds, because original photos of four to seven megabytes were being loaded.
  • Contradictory signals: canonicals pointed to redirected addresses and the sitemap contained blocked pages. In such cases Google decides for itself, often to the detriment of the website.

If a new design or a change of system is coming up, SEO relaunch support is the right framework.
