Free media budget for non-profit organizations

In addition to our work as specialists in internet marketing and app store optimization, we have also committed ourselves to social engagement. In times of cutthroat and commercial business, we want to make a statement here as well and support non-profit organizations. What has become a matter of course for us should benefit them. That is why we manage the Google Ad Grants account of three non-profit organizations. Google Ad Grants is a donation program that works similarly to Google Ads and supports non-profit organizations with free in-kind advertising. Since 2018, participating organizations can run ads worth up to $10,000 per month on Google Ads. This service is already available in over 50 countries.

What are Ad Grants?

Google Ad Grants supports nonprofit organizations by providing a budget for search engine advertising. This allows you to raise awareness for your cause so that you can reach enough supporters for your project.

Your organization is eligible as soon as it is classified as “nonprofit” in your country. You will then receive a budget from Google of $10,000 per month, which you can use for extensive search engine advertising.

How do Ad Grants work?

Google Ad Grants allows you to get started with search engine advertising for your nonprofit organization with a free budget of $10,000 per month. With your Google Ad Grants account, you then create text ads that are delivered in Google search results. This way, you can quickly draw attention to your cause.

What conditions must I meet as a non-profit organization?

To open a Google for Nonprofits account, the following conditions must be met:

  • Your organization must have the status of a registered nonprofit organization in a country listed by Google_. Additionally, you must have your organization verified by TechSoup or the country-specific TechSoup partner.
  • Your organization may need to meet country-specific requirements. You can find more information on the Google Country Page.
  • You must accept additional terms of use for Google for Nonprofits.

Some organizations are excluded from the Google Ad Grants program: authorities, government entities, hospitals and health organizations (except for nonprofit branches of the same or related foundations), schools, educational institutions, and universities (except for charitable branches of educational institutions).

What steps are necessary?

You must register your nonprofit organization with TechSoup if you want to apply for an account with Google for Nonprofits. TechSoup handles the verification process by reporting your organization directly to Google.

  • If you are not yet registered, you can do so when applying for an account with Google for Nonprofits.
  • If you are already registered with TechSoup, you only need to provide your verification token when applying.

Your Google Ad Grants Agency

Although internet marketing is our specialty, we have also set social engagement on our agenda as an agency to give something back. Even in the online competition of commercial businesses, it is a genuine concern for us to support non-profit organizations. What has become a matter of course for us should benefit them. Rheinwunder manages several Google Ad Grants accounts for different non-profit organizations. If you have any questions, we are happy to advise you!
