DMEXCO 2018 – Rheinwunder was there!

We were at the Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference

DMEXCO

On September 12 and 13, 2018, it was finally time again: The Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference, short: dmexco, returned to Cologne. And it was even a jubilee; for the 10th time, the largest digital marketing fair took place at the exhibition grounds in Deutz. As in previous years, this year too, new trends, technologies, software solutions, and services in marketing communication were discussed and presented. We from Rheinwunder were of course also there. Our entire team consisting of SEO, SEA, Content Marketing and Affiliate Marketing was on site and closely examined the latest developments in the industry.

Numbers to be proud of

As every year, the DMEXCO took place at the koelnmesse grounds in Cologne-Deutz. The exhibition spread over six halls and welcomed 41,000 visitors. Over two days, around 1,000 exhibitors from 39 countries informed and entertained them. An important part of the fair also includes the workshops and lectures – a total of 550 speakers were present this year. The halls were literally bursting with crowds: the aisles between the booths were small and the influx of visitors was large. Good for us that the exhibition halls were well air-conditioned. While the dmexco was free a few years ago, this year an entry fee of at least 99 euros was charged for both days. But in return, visitors were offered quite a lot: booths from every company that is currently active on the internet (which is almost all of them) vied for attention and attracted interested parties to them.

Tangible Digital Marketing

There was something exciting for everyone at DMEXCO 2018

The team from Rheinwunder split up: Our employees from the Content & SEO team went their own ways, our SEA experts had their own plan, and the ladies from Affiliate Marketing were also out on their own. Late in the afternoon, just before the start of the booth parties, we all met again to summarize together. “Feeling the trade show vibe of our industry was wonderful. Events like this are great for networking with clients and meeting on equal terms – much better than just being on the phone all the time,” says Sven Draht, our Head of SEA.

Our online editor Monique Schumacher was also impressed: “For me, it was my first visit to dmexco and I am really impressed. At first, I found it a bit overwhelming, but with each conversation, it got easier. I found the booths of Facebook and Google particularly exciting – they really pulled out all the stops.”

We say thank you, dmexco – see you next year!

A thoroughly successful experience!

To ensure that our agency in Bonn-Poppelsdorf was not left unattended for two days, part of our team could only attend the dmexco for one day. On the second day, our Affiliate Marketing team took the opportunity to visit networks and publishers together with our clients. The visit to Cologne was once again a nice trip with many exciting conversations and experiences. We are already looking forward to dmexco 2019!
