The AI product description generator is a WordPress plugin for WooCommerce that automatically creates engaging product descriptions using artificial intelligence (OpenAI/ChatGPT). It analyses the product data (name, features, attributes, category, etc.) and generates unique, SEO-optimised texts from it. Instead of writing each description manually, the tool takes care of the text creation in seconds.

The plugin adds a new feature to your WooCommerce admin area. You can generate descriptions either individually on the product page or in bulk for many products at once. A ‘Generate Description’ button appears in the product editor. When clicked, the plugin sends the product information to the AI (ChatGPT) and receives a finished description text in return. The AI uses advanced language models to formulate a fluent, persuasive text from the facts. Important: An API key (Auth token) is required for use, which you receive after registration on the platform – this activates the tool.

The installation is similar to that of other plugins: First, download the plugin package. Then, go to ‘Plugins’ → ‘Add New’ → ‘Upload Plugin’ in your WordPress dashboard. Select the downloaded ZIP file and click ‘Install Now’. After that, activate the plugin. Once activated, the entry ‘AI Product Describer’ will appear in the dashboard menu, through which you can configure the tool.

Once activated, the tool is already integrated into the WordPress dashboard. In WooCommerce, you will find new bulk actions in the product list and new buttons/fields within the product editing. Additionally, there is a menu item in the admin menu called ‘AI Product Describer’, where you can make settings (e.g., enter API token). In the settings area, you enter your auth token, which you received after registering in your Account – without this key, the AI cannot generate texts. Once the token is saved, the tool is ready for use.

The AI will now analyse all existing information and additional attributes. After a few seconds, a description suggestion will appear in the text field. You can either accept this or edit it as needed. You also have the option to select multiple products in the product overview and use the dropdown action ‘Generate Description’ to create them all at once (Bulk mode), which is very helpful when dealing with many products.

Check facts (e.g., technical specifications) and adjust the tone to suit your brand if necessary. As the content is in the WordPress editor, you can freely make changes, rearrange sentences, or add additional information. The tool provides you with a foundation, but the fine-tuning is still up to you – this ensures that each description is 100% tailored to your product.

You do not need to programme anything yourself or train AI models. Technical terms (such as ‘API token’) are explained in the instructions, so even non-developers can set up the plugin.
